Bloomington, IL. – In what is a first of its kind event for professional indoor football, The Bloomington Edge has finalized an agreement to play the All-Star team form the Elite Indoor Football League. The game will take place at Grossinger Motors Arena on July 21st with kick-off schedule for 7pm. The Elite Indoor Football League is made up of 13 indoor football teams from cities like Memphis, Myrtle Beach, Roanoke, and Sacramento. The EIF All-Star team will be comprised of the absolute best players from each of those teams.
“I look forward to playing such a talented team as the Edge,” said EIF league commissioner Bobby Dammarell who was instrumental in putting this game together. “We hope to give them some great competition. Being able to do crossover games with different leagues is a great thing for indoor football. It helps the players get a broader reach with their goals.”
Bloomington Edge head coach J. Johnson is also thrilled about the opportunity. “We are very excited to play a true All-Star team,” he added. “It will be a great game for us and a great challenge for our team. We are looking forward to it.”
Bloomington Edge General Manager Charles Welde was looking for the best possible opponent’s when putting together a summer schedule for the team. Arranging a game against an All-Star team was one of his first priorities.
“There is going to be an amazing amount of talent on our red turf on July 21st. When you combine the top couple guys from 13 other teams on one sideline with the talent we have been bringing in on the other sideline, there’s going to be a lot of action,” Welde said.
