WHAT IS YOUR DANCE BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE?
I have been dancing since I could walk and have been in love with it ever since.  I have trained for over 25 years in all dance genres & have choreographed and danced professionally for over a decade.  I have trained extensively in lyrical, jazz, contemporary and hip hop.  However, my heart belongs to ballet and pointe, in which I trained under a noted ballet master intensively for 15 years.  I was invited to be a member of the Pittsburgh Ballet Company and have performed in numerous productions, including the roles of Clara and the Snow Queen in The Nutcracker.  I am a decorated competitive soloist & UCA All-Star Cheerleader.  I’m no stranger to performing on the football field as this will be my 12th season dancing at the Coliseum!

WHAT ARE SOME PROFESSIONAL OPPORTUNITIES YOU’VE PURSUED THROUGH DANCE?
I have choreographed and danced professionally for over a decade.  I have also had the pleasure of dancing professionally at the Coliseum since Bloomington football’s inaugural season in 2006 and have danced for the Bloomington Edge, Bloomington Extreme, Bloomington Flex and Central Illinois Drive.  I have represented the sports teams of the Coliseum as the arena promotional spokesperson.  I have danced everywhere from the middle of Chicago’s Michigan Avenue at The Magnificent Mile Lights Festival to under the Arch for the St. Louis Cardinals to the court of the WNBA Chicago Sky.  My credits include numerous music videos, a featured dancer in the Ultimate Cheerleader Publications, MTV’s “Made” and many more.

WHAT IS YOUR FONDEST CHILDHOOD MEMORY?  At 5 years old, I competed in my first solo dance competition.  I debuted my routine, “Alisaurus,” a take-off of my name and the nature of my song, “Dinosaur Rock n’ Roll.”  I was awarded first place in my category.  I was also awarded “Overall Top Score” of the entire competition that included dancers from all over the nation, up through 18 years of age.  I took home an “Overall Top Score” trophy, which stood taller than me!
Not only did my parents encourage me to pursue my love of dance and performance, but also they joined in as well!  Some of my favorite childhood memories include my parents taking the stage alongside me.  My whole family performed in a production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat with my dad as a soloist performing the role of Reuben.  My family also spent many years performing in The Nutcracker…which sets the stage for my #1 fondest childhood “Dance Dad” moment.  My dad was in full stage makeup before the start of the performance.  My tights ripped and my “Dance Dad” quickly addressed my dance emergency and saved the day by volunteering to run to Walgreens to get me a pair of tights.  He ran in and asked in which aisle he could find women’s tights.  After being met with several perplexed stares, he remembered he was in full stage makeup…blue eyeshadow, eyeliner, lipstick and all.  Best “Dance Dad” ever.
And…honorable mention goes to…jumping off my garage roof onto our trampoline when my parents weren't looking…that ranks up there pretty high too!
