WHAT IS YOUR DANCE BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE?
I have been dancing since I was 3 years old!  I am trained in jazz, tap, ballet, hip-hop, and musical theatre.  I have been on several competition teams, I have been a “featured dancer” in many musicals, and I have danced professionally in parades, and for local basketball and football teams.

WHAT ARE SOME PROFESSIONAL OPPORTUNITIES YOU’VE PURSUED THROUGH DANCE?
I have danced in The Magnificent Mile Lights Festival Parade in Chicago, IL a few times.  That dance is a Rockette-style routine and is recorded live right on Michigan Ave.  It is always freezing, but always fun!  I also have danced for the Bloomington Flex basketball team for four seasons.  This year is also my fourth season dancing for the Bloomington Edge football team!
DO YOU HAVE ANY NICKNAMES?  Ash, Mash, Ley, Nickel, and Smiley
MY TEAMMATES DESCRIBE ME AS...Awkward
WHAT IS ONE THING MOST PEOPLE WOULD BE SURPRISED TO KNOW ABOUT YOU?  I am a HORRIBLE liar.  I come from a singing/dancing/acting background, so people never understand how or why I can’t lie!  The actress in me should be able to pull it off, but I just can’t do it in real life situations!
IF YOU HAD TO PICK TWO CELEBRITIES TO BE YOUR PARENTS WHO WOULD YOU CHOOSE?  I don’t follow celebrities, meaning, I don’t know what their lives are all about.  I literally wouldn’t even know who would be good or cool parents?!
IF YOU COULD HAVE ONE SUPERPOWER, WHAT WOULD IT BE?  Teleportation!  I hate flying but love to travel!  Who really wants to sit in a car, on a train, or in a plane for hours on end when you could teleport somewhere in seconds?!  Not me!
WHAT IS THE MOST EMBARRASSING SONG ON YOUR IPOD RIGHT NOW?  I may or may not have the soundtrack(s) to the That’s So Raven TV show.  And, yes, I actually do listen to them!  I’m honestly not even embarrassed about it because that was a great show and the music was on point, too!
FINISH THIS STATEMENT:  I am most proud of…My friends!  I think the people we surround ourselves with are a direct reflection of who we are and/or who we will become.  My friends are selfless, caring, funny and loving people.  I would be proud to be just like any of them!
WHAT IS YOUR FONDEST CHILDHOOD MEMORY?  I love looking back on family vacations, which includes trips with my entire family to FL, trips to Disney with my parents and sister, and a family trip to Mexico.  I love that I have gotten to experience those things with my favorite people on the planet!
WHAT BRINGS A SMILE TO YOUR FACE?  Watching the “light bulb” moment with students when they finally learn a concept or reach a goal!  Watching them when they feel proud of themselves for something that you and I may see as “simple” – it is truly humbling.
MOST PRIZED POSSESSION?  My silky blanket!!  I cannot sleep without it!  It goes with me everywhere! …Seriously.
YOUR PERFECT DAY WOULD BE...Sleeping in until 9am, going to a park and walking a trail, finding a bench and writing or painting for an hour, going to Flat Top for lunch, binge watching a series on Netflix in the afternoon (currently, that would be Pretty Little Liars), having dinner at Red Lobster, going to a concert (Zac Brown Band, Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, or some of my favorite worship bands) and then snuggling with dogs as I fall asleep!
MY LIFE IN ONE WORD...AwkwardlyEntertaining (I feel as though I need to explain this one! - I am super awkward, but I am never embarrassed by it so it is pretty entertaining.. For me and for the people that experience it.)
BIGGEST ADVENTURE...I was a cast member at Walt Disney World in 2012!  I was a participant in the Disney College Program so I was there for a semester.  I worked, took classes through Disney University, and spent all of my free time on the beach or in the parks!  I wouldn’t trade that experience for anything in the world!
WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST JOB?  Hostess at a restaurant – I learned to appreciate that line of work over the course of a year and, wow, I vow to never work in that industry ever again! – Ladies and gents, always tip your servers well!!  They deserve it!
WHO IS YOUR CELEBRITY CRUSH?  Again, with the celebrities… I know no one!
WHAT IS YOUR GUILTY PLEASURE?  Going out to “the club” and dancing awkwardly, even though I actually can dance in real life.  People look at me like I should be embarrassed, but I’m usually having the time of my life!
WHAT IS YOUR DREAM VACATION DESTINATION?  Disney, always.
FAVORITE THING TO DO IN BLOOMINGTON-NORMAL…I love to do anything if it involves my friends!
WHAT IS YOUR JUNK FOOD WEAKNESS?  I have this weird obsession with certain drinks paired with specific foods: Cheez-Itz and orange juice.  Pretzels and apple juice.  Goldfish and Dr Pepper.  Oreos and, the obvious, milk.
WHO DO YOU ADMIRE THE MOST?  My sweet, silly, supportive, and loving grandparents: Grammy and Grampy.
WHO IS YOUR ROLE MODEL?  Jesus Christ.  I try to be like him and fail miserably, day after day, but I desire to be more like him in every aspect of my life!
WHAT IS YOUR PERSONAL AMBITION?  To love people (as in ALL people, no matter their age, sex, gender identity, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, disabilities, etc.)
WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO AUDITION FOR THE EDGE?  I love to perform and, believe it or not, I actually enjoy watching football!  It only made sense to audition for a dance team that performs at football games.  After 3, or I guess now 4, seasons with the Edge, I can say it was one of my best decisions of my life.  I have gotten to be apart of some amazing opportunities through this organization.  I have met some of my favorite ladies in all the land here, too!
IF YOU COULD SAY ANYTHING TO THE EDGE FANS, WHAT WOULD YOU SAY?  Thank you for coming out, game after game, and supporting this organization.  We (staff, players, coaches, dancers, etc.) do what we do not just for the love of the game, but we also do it for YOU!  Thank you for showing up and cheering us on!!
WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT BEING A PART OF THE EDGE DANCE TEAM?  Meeting the fans!!  There are seriously infants all the way through 80-year-old people that come to these games.  No matter their age though, everyone is excited to be there and they prove that they appreciate us just as much as we appreciate them.  It is fun for me to interact with the younger fans and sign autographs or take pictures.  I know they see me, a goofy student teacher, as a role model so I feel privileged to share a smile and laugh with them!
